The Development Planning Process.


Stanway Little Associates (SLA) are Chartered Town Planners and Chartered Architects.
SLA provide specialist support to clients involved in the planning and development process.

Heritage and Conservation


SLA have experience over five hundred heritage projects which often have unique planning problems that arise from working with listed buildings and their settings. These unique problems often include special landscape considerations, land and buildings in conservation areas and other special requirements.
Our specialist town planning and architectural skills are brought to bear to enable sensible progress to be made to help clients with their Heritage projects including advice, appraisals, negotiations, heritage statements, pre-application consultancy, listed building and conservation area applications and appeals against refusal of listed building consent and conservation area refusals and applications to delist listed buildings deemed no longer worthy of listing.

Lawful Development


SLA provides consultation and advice and enters into negotiations and submits applications for certificates of lawful development and makes appeals against refusal of a lawful development certificates for both categories being for:
Certificates of lawfulness of existing use or development (CLUEDS)
Or
Certificates of lawfulness of proposed use or development (CLOPUDS)

Planning Enforcement


Planning Enforcement is used by Councils to control development that has been carried out without planning permission. SLA have extensive experience of dealing with Planning Enforcement issues, whether this is from the point of view of a complainant or, more commonly, someone being investigated for an alleged breach of Planning Control and being subject to an Enforcement Appeals. We can help to save a situation if approached in time by conducting negotiations with the Council concerned; ensuring that requested information from the Council is supplied accurately. If negotiations fail and an Enforcement Notice is issued, we can often achieve a successful outcome for our clients, through advising on and conducting an Appeal against the Enforcement Notice. Our services also extend to providing similar services for Listed Building Enforcement Notices and Tree Replacement Notices.
